AFBELive 2026
Help us understand the people shaping the future of engineering.
AFBELive 2026 takes place at The Vox Conference Centre in Birmingham on 30 October, bringing together people from across engineering and technology to explore this year's theme: The Future of Engineering: From Access to Equity.
This year, Divrsity is a Bronze Sponsor of AFBELive, and we're working with AFBE-UK to launch our AFBELive Attendee & Industry Insight Survey.
Alongside understanding what attendees think of the event itself, we want to learn more about the people AFBELive reaches, their experiences of working and developing careers in engineering, and what those experiences can tell us about the sector more widely.
Attendee & Industry Insight Survey open 30 October–6 November 2026
What do we want to learn?
The survey looks at who AFBELive is reaching, why people engage with the event, and their experiences of working and studying across engineering and technology.
By combining demographic data with questions about people's experiences, perspectives, and the industry itself, we can look beyond headline averages and identify where different groups may be having different experiences.
We can also use the findings to help AFBE-UK understand its audience, improve future events, reach more people, and identify wider trends within its community and industry.
With this year's conference exploring the journey from access to equity, we want to better understand the opportunities and barriers people face, and what meaningful progress might look like across engineering.
You don't have to be attending to take part
If you're attending AFBELive 2026, you may already have received a personal survey link by email. If so, please use that link to take part.
But we also want to hear from the wider engineering community.
If you work or study in engineering, technology, or a related field, you can complete the survey through the link below even if you're not attending the conference.
Your responses can help us build a broader picture of the people working across the sector and their experiences.
The survey takes around 3 minutes to complete and closes on 6 November 2026.
Completely anonymous
Survey responses are completely anonymous.
Your answers cannot be linked back to your email address or identity, including by AFBE-UK or Divrsity. Any personally identifying information used to distribute individual survey invitations is separate from your responses and is deleted in accordance with our data protection arrangements.
The data captured through the survey is anonymised and analysed collectively.
Better event insight. Better industry insight.
Divrsity helps events and conferences combine audience demographics, attendee experience, and wider industry questions to understand who they are reaching, whose experiences may differ, and what their audience can tell them about the sector they represent.
That can mean understanding whether different groups experience an event differently, identifying audiences an event is not yet reaching, learning what matters to its community, or producing industry insights that continue to be useful long after the doors close.
For AFBELive, we'll be using the data both to help improve future events and to learn more about the experiences of the wider engineering community, supporting AFBE-UK's ambition to move from access to equity.
